A lot of our work is done in support of music, but we still remain pretty musically challenged. So, when we heard the first track on the accompanying mix cd, we were naive enough to think “Black Sabbath’s Black Sabbath with bongos!” Turns out it was Isis a band most people have never heard about. Almost every track thereafter had us Googlin’ with very little success. As for the 7-inch … it’s kind of as a compare and contrast featuring edits of two tracks originally inspired by revolutionary concepts: one a fictitious film about student revolt in 60s America, the other, a real life struggle in South Africa. How and why do these exist together on a single plastic disc? … and is it ok to dance to these songs? Only the Purple Brain knows. About the package: This was a collaborative effort with Andre Bumrocks and Jason Convict! … would make for a decent time capsule (in the form of a 21x28 poster, one transparent purple disc, one opague aqua blue disc and one note) and therefore should probably be listened to/looked at underground.
