For the design of Pink Skull’s latest LP “Endless Bummer” we thought it would make sense to create a process that would be a total bummer. We started by producing three offset-printed color versions of the record jacket containing all pertinent text content. A total of 1000 jackets were printed. Next, we created a list of 1000 things that could be considered “bummers”. We then letterpressed 900 jackets — each with a unique “bummer” — using wood type hand-set on a Vandercook press at Pyramid Atlantic in Silver Spring MD. Each jacket was then hand folded and glued. The remaining 100 jackets will be available at a higher cost with your own personalized bummer. All records come with a zine we designed using found imagery provided by the band.
