Synthesist is the debut album by Harald Grosskopf, the enigmatic percussionist behind Ash Ra Tempel, Klaus Schulze, and Cosmic Jokers. Originally released by Sky Records in 1980, RVNG Intl. celebrates the 30th year anniversary with this newly mastered and packaged reissue.

This is the first in an ongoing series of re-issues by the Rvng label (ReRvng). Unlike the typical re-issue which attempts to re-create the original down to the packaging, the ReRvng series intends to become a growing collection of records that share some common thread. We decided on a simple, respectable package concept that can be used for all future releases in the series. As these releases will look back to previous recordings and explore them via guest re-interpretations, we created somewhat of a backwards inside-out package. The back becomes the front and the tabs (enlarged and glued outside) conveniently become areas for labeling the release title and catalog numbers.
